SUICIDE CIRCUS
I: In a sense, one could say that this song is the representative song of the album. You also shot a PV for this one, right?
Reita: The image is wonderful. There are many people in it which stand out even more than we do (laugh).
Uruha: I guess it will be very popular. It’s seriously terribly cool.
Reita: It’s like, if you walk through town as usual, you will meet people that you usually wouldn’t meet (laugh).
Kai: Certainly (laugh).
I: Eeh?! What does that mean??
Aoi: Except for us, the image will be like that of a circus troup.
Uruha: The place where we shot the PV is like an amusement park which isn’t in use anymore now. It was a very special situation. Also because things like the lighting on the Merry-go-Round has been renewed just for this shooting. Even the smallest details are really worth seeing, so you absolutely must see it.
I: Was RUKI-kun the one who polished up the plot for the original image?
RUKI: Yes, that’s right. I made the rough draft. First I made detailed descriptions about matters that take place in Japan nowadays, and I also thought that I wanted to show these incidents. But more than the details we tried to capture in the shooting, it became an image whose full atmosphere is peculiar. Well, because it’s not a movie but a PV, I think that’s what makes it interesting.
[...]
Uruha: Together with Kai, we tried absolutely every possibility from dinamic mics to whatever. Above that, in the end we said “well, let’s actually try it in the same manner as usually”. So, without doing anything, we continued in the same manner, and after trying out several things I think that the break though at the surface of our feelings was different after all. Therefore, when we began with the recording itself, there was nothing to worry about. I’m glad we tried everything before.
I: At any rate, accumulating experiences is an important thing, right.
MY DEVIL ON THE BED
I: This song was made by Uruha, wasn’t it?
Aoi: The provisional title was “SHOW TIME”, right?
Uruha: For a while (laugh). But it was really only temporary. I thought that it would be nice to have a song from now on during the lives, which could create a Show Time kind of scene. So I started creating it in my own way and that’s the song that came out as a result. In this song there is that continuous rhythm that feels a little like jumping, so I guess that it will also be easy for the audience to dance to it.
I: In the intro of the song, there are parts where the rhythm group takes the lead, right.
Reita: To be honest, I was kind of worried about it until we put in the singing. With only the sounds of two people, I wondered how far we could fill the song out (laugh).
Uruha: But isn’t exactly this rhythm the strong point of this song?
UNTITLED
RUKI: For the first time, this became a song that I wrote about the night sky as the theme.
I: That way it became a really beautiful song.
RUKI: When it comes to ballads, there were many of them until now that were generally kind of agonizing, right (laugh). But, this is a song that I made while thoughts about the calm and vast night sky were floating in my head.
Aoi: You’re a calm person, as expected.
Reita: That night sky that RUKI saw, I may have seen it as well.
Uruha: I also saw it!
RUKI: Oi, what the… you guys! Suddenly the atmosphere is strange (bitter laugh)!
Kai: Ahahaha (laugh).
TOMORROW NEVER DIES
I: This song was made directed at the fans/listeres. The stongly warm message resounds frankly and is very true.
RUKI: I created [the song] in such a way that it is directed at everyone. In the very end, I wanted to include this song in the album this time.
I: In general, there are many songs on the album which have kind of an agressive tone, but the sound which accompanies the refreshing feeling one can hear in this song is somehow extremely fresh. In some repsects, there are also parts which feel like they clean your heart.
Uruha: Especially the first half is the heart [of the song].
RUKI: In this album, there are many forms of the “present” included, but these are my present, honest feelings. I guess it’s like “Hey you guys, live more seriously already!” (laugh). It includes things that I want everyone to never forget.
OMEGA
I: This ending SE was made by Uruha, right?
Uruha: Yes. RUKI told me he wanted a chaotic SE as if everything will break apart, so that is how I put the sounds together.
RUKI: A digital world which ends with a short circuit. That was the image I wanted.
